Tots n Tunes has delivered a wide range of creative and engaging projects that bring families together through music, play, and celebration. From festive Christmas parties that transformed Barking Learning Centre into a winter wonderland, to vibrant Diwali events and outdoor park sports activities, our sessions have always focused on joy and connection. We’ve supported dads and toddlers through memorable outings like Daddy’s Day Out to Colchester Zoo, and worked closely with local families to co-create a nursery rhyme book featuring songs from around the world. These projects reflect our commitment to cultural celebration, community bonding, and the power of music in early childhood.
Daddy’s Day Out – Zoo Trip
Daddy’s Day Out was a joyful and memorable project funded by the Community Chest, designed to give dads and their little ones a special day to bond and connect. The highlight was an exciting outing to Colchester Zoo, where fathers and toddlers explored together, shared new experiences, and made lasting memories. The trip offered a relaxed and supportive space for dads to build confidence in their parenting and connect with other local families.

🎬 Daddy’s Day Out – Cinema Experience
Daddy’s Day Out continues to create joyful, meaningful experiences for fathers and their children — and this time, we headed to the cinema for a special screening of the Smurfs movie!
This trip was designed to give dads and their little ones the full cinema experience. From the excitement of arriving together, choosing seats and settling in, to enjoying popcorn and drinks just like a proper movie night, every detail was about creating shared moments and lasting memories.
The outing provided a relaxed and welcoming environment where dads could bond with their children, build confidence in navigating public spaces together, and connect with other local fathers. For many families, it was their child’s first ever cinema visit — making it an extra special milestone.
As with all our Daddy’s Day Out projects, the aim is simple but powerful:
to strengthen the bond between fathers and their children while reducing isolation and building a supportive dad network within our community.
Laughter, excitement and blue Smurf magic filled the room — and most importantly, so did connection.
We can’t wait for the next adventure! 💙
Father’s Day Party
Our Father’s Day Party was a fun-filled, lively morning that brought together dads, children, and families for a joyful celebration. With face painters, balloon artists, arts and crafts, and plenty of music and laughter, the event created a relaxed and welcoming space to recognise and honour the role of fathers. We were also delighted to be visited by a very special guest—Pudsey Bear—who brought smiles, excitement, and lots of photo opportunities for the little ones. It was a memorable morning full of warmth, fun, and community spirit.

Community Health Events
We’ve joined several local health events over time, bringing our energy, music, and family-friendly activities to support community wellbeing. These events have been a great way to connect with families, promote healthy lifestyles, and share the joy of movement and music in welcoming environments.

Christmas Party
Our Christmas Party was a magical celebration filled with festive joy for children and families. Barking Learning Centre was transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with music, decorations, and plenty of cheer. The highlight for many was a visit from Santa Claus himself, bringing excitement, smiles, and special moments the children won’t forget.
A special thank you to Zoinul (Head of Universal Services) for supporting the event and funding the transformation of the children’s area at BLC—it made the celebration truly magical for everyone involved.
Diwali Party
Our Diwali Party was a joyful and colourful celebration of light, culture, and community. Families came together to enjoy music, dancing, traditional crafts, and festive treats in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The event offered children and parents a chance to learn about the significance of Diwali while taking part in fun, hands-on activities.
We’re grateful to the Equality and Diversity Fund for supporting this event and helping us create a space where all cultures are celebrated and shared.

Multicultural Nursery Rhyme Book Launch
We proudly launched our multicultural nursery rhyme book—a beautiful collection of songs and rhymes from around the world, co-created with local families. The book celebrates the rich cultural diversity of our community and encourages early learning through language, rhythm, and storytelling.
The launch event brought families together for a joyful celebration of music, heritage, and shared voices.
This project was made possible with the generous support of the NCIL Neighbourhood Fund, helping us promote inclusion, belonging, and early childhood development through song.

Easter Egg Hunt
Our Easter Egg Hunt at Barking Learning Centre was a fun-filled adventure that brought families together for a lively morning of discovery and delight. Children explored the library in search of hidden clues, collecting letters along the way to solve a special Easter word puzzle. Once completed, each child received a well-earned Easter egg as a sweet reward. The event was a joyful celebration of the season, filled with curiosity, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.
Halloween Party
Our Halloween Party was a spooktacular morning of fun, filled with music, games, and fancy dress! Families arrived in brilliant costumes and enjoyed themed activities including face painting, dancing, and playful Halloween surprises. The event created a joyful and safe space for little ones to celebrate, make memories, and enjoy all the magic of Halloween together.

“Are You Fitter Than Your Child?” – Park Event
Our “Are You Fitter Than Your Child?” event in Barking Park was a vibrant celebration of health, movement, and family fun. Blessed with beautiful sunny weather, families joined us for a day of sports activities, face painting, picnics, and plenty of laughter. In collaboration with Youth Spot Bar, we also provided delicious healthy snacks to keep everyone fuelled and energised. With a fantastic turnout and a joyful atmosphere, the event brought the community together to move, connect, and enjoy the outdoors.
